It started with the changing status of Mount Merapi into red alert in 2006 and the eruption happened on June 14, 2006 which destroyed Kaliadem, one of tourism sites in Jogjakarta. Kaliadem is located in Kepuharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman, the northern part of jogjakarta. It collapsed the economic condition of Kaliadem people and also the people around Merapi especially Kepuharjo and Umbulharjo people. Cangkringan district were officially closed by the government because it was considered as a dangerous site.
