If you are planning for a trip to Jogjakarta, don’t forget to take your time to visit Siung Beach. Probably most people had already visited other well known beaches in Jogjakarta such as Parangtritis beach, Baron, Krakal, or Kukup, but Siung Beach has its own distinguish features that make this location special. Located in a remote area in Gunung Kidul regency, south district of Kecamatan Tepus, 70 km from the downtown, Siung Beach is a reminiscent of the beautiful virgin beaches which are protected from mischievous hands.
After about two hours' drive from the city of jogjakarta, blue sea, white sand and clusters of towering cliffs will graciously welcome you upon arriving at the scene of Siung Beach. The waves that hit the barrier reef and romantic coastal scenery, can make the guests feel like hypnotized, amazed by the beautiful Siung beach landscape. Chatting while enjoying the beautiful scenery in wooden houses near the beach with friends, family, or your loved one will be a special experience for those of you who visited the Siung Beach. When it is quiet enough, you can also see the presence of exotic long-tailed monkeys at Siung Beach area.
Besides the beach gorgeousness, another distinguished feature Siung Beach has is the magnificent cliffs cluster around the beach. The cliffs are a favorite rock climbing location and were a heaven for the "climbers" because it has approximately 250 climbing points. Supported by the beautiful sea panorama, climbing with the accompaniment of the waves and refreshing sea breeze is a very special experience. At Siung Beach, once held the Asian Climbing Gatherings (Asian level rock climbing) which was attended by 80 participants from 15 countries in Asia, including Thailand, Japan, China, Malaysia, etc..
